NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Society for Research in Psychopathology Conference
The BE-RAD Lab traveled to LA for the Society for Research in Psychopathology (SRP) conference this September. Kaetlyn, Ellie, and Addie presented data from the KAT study, while Hannah presented preliminary data from the PANDA study.
Publication Alert!
The BE-RAD Lab’s first parent-child synchrony project has been accepted for publication in the journal Developmental Psychobiology! The paper, “Parent and child influences on adrenocortical synchrony during middle childhood,” is based on the KAT pilot study data collected at the University of New Orleans. The results suggest that high parental firmness, marked by rigid behavioral control and structure, is associated with fewer child help-seeking behaviors during a frustrating task, which may ultimately impede adrenocortical synchrony in challenging moments.
Congratulations, Kaetlyn!
Graduate student Kaetlyn Conner Gottschalk successfully defended her Master's thesis, Associations between behavioral inhibition and anxiety development in childhood: The role of parent sex, autonomy granting, and overprotection.Congratulations, Kaetlyn!

Congratulations, Hannah!
Graduate student Hannah Duttweiler successfully defended her Master's thesis, Early Childhood Irritability and Later Psychopathology: The Mediating Role of Parenting. Congratulations, Hannah!
